How would my company, brand or product name work in Chinese?
There are several ways to create a Chinese name for your company, brand or product. You can develop a transliteration of your existing name or translate the meaning. In Hong Kong, both of these ways are common. Some brands have Chinese names that are totally unrelated to their English names, but work well with the marketing or branding strategy. Some names are even based on local slang.
What do I need to know about Chinese copywriting in Hong Kong?
In Hong Kong, spoken Chinese (Cantonese) is quite different from written Chinese. For some products, eg. FMCG and QSR, the copy is written in Cantonese which feels friendly and colloquial to people. In B2B sectors such as for financial and property brands, copy is produced in formal written Chinese which give people a sense of trust and authority. Mainland and Taiwanese copywriting is different again. I can help you with copywriting in any Chinese style or dialect.
You sometimes describe yourself as a freelancer. What are your fees?
In fact I am not officially a freelancer as I work full-time in a media neutral, full service Hong Kong branding and marketing agency. To ensure I can help as many people who need quality Chinese copy as possible, I have included in this site such phrases as freelance Chinese copywriter and freelance Chinese copywriting.
